Anthony Mackie will bring his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, coming back to live theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run set to run until July 2027.
The production started on the West End stage before the Broadway transfer was confirmed by entertainment outlets. The move represents a big shift for a performer better known recently for his screen work.
After his Broadway run concludes, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, slotting the Marvel project in after his stage work finishes.
